Heavy-gauge corten steel Garden Edging · fabricated in Berkeley NSW 🇦🇺

Corten Steel garden edging that will outlive the garden around it

Most garden edging is 1.6mm thin steel that bows the moment you backfill it — or plastic that cracks in its first hot summer. This is 2–6mm Australian weathering steel. You install it once, it seals itself, and it outlives the garden around it.

How it works

Tell Us What You Need

  • Send a photo, a sketch, or just a few words — no measurements or specs needed to start. (Use the form, takes a minute)
  • We come back with the right height, thickness and profile for your garden edging, plus a real price.
  • You approve a drawing before we cut anything — and before you pay a cent. Nothing’s locked in until you’re happy.

We Make It and Send It to You

  • Cut and shaped in our Berkeley workshop to your exact measurements, in genuine Corten steel that outlasts plastic and thin steel.
  • Arrives ready to install, joiners and stakes included — or collect free from Berkeley, NSW.
  • Built to drop straight in. Most homeowners fit it themselves; or your landscaper will have it done fast.

The install system

No visible fixings. No welder on site Required.
  • Every fixing sits on the rear face, below the top edge — no face screws, no rivets, nothing interrupting the patina. From the garden side it’s one clean line of steel.
  • Corners aren’t patched together with bulky universal joiners. We bend them into the sheet itself — standard 30°, 45° and 90°, or any angle your design calls for. No gaps, no weak point where the line turns.
  • Joins use pre-welded rear tabs on 25mm SHS stakes: drive the stake, fix two tek screws from the back, move on. As rigid as a site weld, in a fraction of the install time.

Garden Edging FAQ

It costs more than Bunnings, less than people assume Aussie-made steel costs. Edging starts at $37 and scales with height, thickness and length. We quote the whole job properly — steel and freight — so you’re comparing apples to apples with no surprises at delivery.

It’s the same steel used on bridges and shipping containers — the rust on the surface seals the metal underneath and then stops eating in. Our 2–6mm gauge is structural thickness, not decorative sheet. Pieces we made in 2014 are still in gardens today, looking better than the day they left.

It rusts, then seals — that’s the point. It’s a stable, protective patina, not the flaking corrosion you get on cheap mild steel. It can bleed a little colour in the first few weeks as it weathers, so near paving you set it with a small gravel gap or slight setback. We’ll tell you exactly how for your layout when we quote.

Yes — most of our homeowners do. The peg-and-wedge system is built for DIY, and your edging ships with the connectors and stakes you need. If you’d rather your landscaper handle it, it goes in just as cleanly. Call us if you get stuck.

Yes. We roll the steel for smooth curves — any radius — or fold it for crisp straight runs and 90° corners. Send us the shape of your bed and we’ll make the steel follow the line, not fight it.

We deliver Australia-wide through a courier. Freight to your exact postcode is built into your quote, so there’s no nasty surprise at checkout. Or pick up free from our Berkeley (NSW) workshop.

Most jobs can be completed within a week depending on complexity. Approved drawings to your yard. We give you the real lead time when we quote, not the optimistic one, so it locks into your install or build schedule.

Yes to both. Trade clients get pricing you can actually mark up, plus shop drawings. Flag that you’re trade when you enquire and we’ll set you up.

It’s free and no-obligation. Adam or one of the team comes back within one business day with options, sizing advice and a real price. No pressure, no spam, no on-selling your details.

That’s most enquiries — you don’t need to know the specs. Send a photo, a rough idea, or a Pinterest screenshot and we’ll come back with options and pricing. We’ve been doing this since 2014 and can read between the lines. Just start the form above — the “not sure” options are there for a reason.
