Description

A letterbox is the first thing anyone sees at your address, and the standard powder-coated box from the hardware store does nothing for a home you’ve spent years getting right. The Standard Parcel Letterbox is 1200 mm tall and 500 mm wide — big enough to hold a lockable parcel box, so deliveries don’t get left on the doorstep.

Every one is laser-cut to order at our workshop in Berkeley, NSW, with your chosen pattern and your house number cut into the face.

The options above list our standard patterns — Australian botanicals like Grevillea, Agapanthus and Gumleaf Cascade, alongside bolder linework like Fanfare and Autumn Tree. Each is cut clean through the metal, so the pattern reads as shadow by day and glows if you add internal lighting at night.

On Medium, Standard and Wide Form letterboxes the pattern can wrap from the front around to the sides.

Choose your finish

Cor-Ten steel develops a natural rust patina that deepens over years and never needs painting. It suits rendered, timber and natural-stone frontages, and pairs with Cor-Ten garden edging or planters if you’re doing the whole yard.

Powder-coated aluminium comes in the full Dulux powder coat range, weighs half as much, and holds a crisp colour edge — the choice for contemporary builds and darker palettes like Monument or Deep Ocean. Browse the Dulux colour chart →

• Fully lockable mail chute with rear access
• Mail chute in standard finish, or with a black or silver powder-coated faceplate
• Weather strip above the letter slot to keep rain out
• Removable base plate included for dynabolting to a concrete pad

Optional extras

• Parcel box — opens from the rear and locks with a 3-digit combination. Give the code to your couriers and they can lock deliveries inside instead of leaving them on the doorstep.
• Frosted perspex backing (2 or 3 sides) — we recommend it on every letterbox. It makes the pattern and house number read clearly in daylight, spreads internal light evenly at night, keeps insects and spiders out, and hides the parcel box from view through the cutouts.
• Newspaper cylinder
• Black or silver mail chute faceplate
• Internal lighting and enlarged mail flaps — available as custom additions. Request a quote.

Select your finish, pattern and extras above, then add to cart. Please include your house number, and your Dulux colour name if you’ve chosen powder coat, in the Order Notes field at checkout — we can’t start fabrication without them.

Ordering something custom

For a different size, a pattern that isn’t listed, or a design of your own, fill in the quote form below, email info@ironbarkmetaldesign.com or call 02 4229 2222. Custom orders run on a 50% deposit, after which we produce a computer mock-up for your approval before anything is cut.

Lead time, delivery and installation

Each letterbox is personalised and made to order, so allow 3–4 weeks for design and fabrication (3–5 weeks on custom orders). We deliver Australia-wide with insurance through the courier, or you can collect free from Unit 2/7 Warehouse Pl, Berkeley NSW. See our Shipping & Returns policy for details.

Installation is straightforward — the supplied internal fixing plate dynabolts to a concrete pad roughly 50 mm larger than the letterbox footprint and 50 mm deep. Any local handyman or landscaper can handle it.

Cor-Ten letterboxes ship un-rusted for mess-free delivery, and develop their patina on site over the first few months. To speed it up, dissolve a handful of table salt in 500 mL of white vinegar and apply in a shaded spot. Internal lighting is not included.
